    Description

    Rare historical 39x1.25x1.25 inch piece of wood taken from the 1950 Truman Restoration of the White House. These pieces of wood were made into canes and resold. The plaque is affixed to the wood and reads "Original White House Material Removed in 1950." The wood also has a partial label affixed to it. This label is mostly torn off but the other label on another piece of wood from this collection read in part "Commission on Renovation of the Executive Mansion, Fort Myer, VA, Return Postage Guaranteed, Postage Due Cents." In very good condition. We only got a few of these from the White House collection. A great piece! On the side with the plaque there are 3 small holes on the far right side that go through to the back of the wood. On the back there are 4 small holes, 2 in the center and 2 on the left portion.
